Embedded subtitles in MKV don't show up Hello everybody. Please don't tell me to use the browser, I already did that and the other threads didn't help me. Recently I had to reintall Windows and I also had to reinstall BSPlayer. I use version 2.63 PRO. I used to see the embedded subtitles in MKV files perfectly but now they don't show up. I tried: - Using the codecs of BSPlayer installed through the Codec Manager. - Install just the player and K-lite Codec Pack. - Install just the player and Comunity Codec Pack. - Install VobSub filter with its own installer. - Activate and deactivate different filters. - Install and reinstall the player many times. Nothing worked so far. If I try to activate the subtitles look what shows up: http://101.imagebam.com/download/-vD...%C2%ADtulo.jpg But VobSub it's installed and activated. In fact, with Media Player Classic the subtitles load perfectly but I hate that stupid player. I want it to work in BSPlayer like before. The problem is just with embedded subtitles, the external subtitles show up. Any suggestions?????? Regards. |
I finally fixed it. I installed an old version of BSPlayer (2.57). That's it, the subs show up again. Everybody having this issue, try that. Regards. :) |
You didn't by any chance accidentally "Disable embedded subtitles" under (rightclick >) Options > Preferences > Subtitles [Subtitle properties] ? Similar problems here? Do you "Use new subtitle parser/renderer" (or old=legacy one)? (this is also under Options > Preferences > Subtitles [Subtitle properties]) |
I will resurrect this old thread just to note that it was probably the "Options>Preferences>subtitles>draw subtitles to overlay surface" not being checked. Sometimes BSplayer throws fits with MKV files and this works well to actually display the subtitles. |
any idea about the problem yet? It's not an option issue. 2.78 has this bug. Other players show all embedded subtitle languages but bs 2.78. |
Hi, it dos not seem to me as 2.78 bug. It was actually okay until I manually installed LAV filters version 0.78 (because i wanted to play AV1 files). Version 2.78 BSplayer codec manager installs only LAV filters version 0.72 that can't handle AV1. more info here: https://forum.bsplayer.com/bug-repor...1-support.html |
I sorted it out by messing around with the settings. What worked for me was going to Preferences > Subtitles > [Subtitle properties] and tweaking a bit there. Also, try reinstalling VobSub after installing the player. |
