Black images with some movies
 

I have experienced some strange behaviour with some divx movies lately: the sound is fine (both sounds for bivx movies) but the image stays black.

I have installed latest build (499) but it makes no difference. I have also tried to switch/disable the overlay mode, RGB YUV stuff but it does not help either.

The movies can be played with the DivX Player 2.0 but then, I cannot switch to the second audio stream nor see the subtitles.

I am still able to play plenty of other movies and there are only a few that exhibit the problem. Some of the movies I can play have been ripped by the same person as those I cannot play so I suppose they are in the same format (divx 5).

Any idea on where to look next?

Do you have the latest divx (5.0.5) installed ?

Nope, I checked and it is 5.0.2. I will download the new release right away. Is it safe to install the divx codec on top of bsplayer?

I have installed divx 5.0.5 and it works!!! There must be some nasty bug in 5.0.2.

Yes, divx has a nasty problem, supporting new codec movies by an older decoder. So, if you have an older version, if the movie is coded with a newer version that is what is happening.
