W8, BSplayer 2.66; An error occurred in the application
 

I have a W8 computer with an NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M and a driver dated 8/28/2012 version: 9.18.13.614.

I updated BSplayer to 2.66 tonight and now, I get the following message trying to play any mkv, avi, mpg or any other file type;

An error occurred in the application

I verified that my codecs are properly installed using the codecmanager.
I uninstalled and reinstalled.....still the error persists.

What can be done? While other players are ok in a pinch, I really prefer this player and have used it almost exclusively for the last few years.
