Bs player for avi files

Hi,

I have windows 7 on my computer and no matter what version of BS Player I download it won't read .avi files.
I have no problems with .mkw or .mp4 files but only with .avi.
Thought it reads blueray .avi files but others no...

Help please!!:angry:
