1.0R1 Bugs

Overall 1.0R1 works however:

The control and movie window stays in the front after a while. I can't bring other windows (browser, folder) to the front without minimizing BS.

Also the file icon won't change. It stays as the default circular BS.

Keep up the great work, BS became my default player almost as soon as I downloaded it.

I'm using:
Windows XP SP1
Athlon 2500+
GeForce FX 5200

I know the engine was rewritten so here's a problem I'm having. My mpg files are playing upside down with the new version. In the old version and other video players they play fine. It's just a standard vcd compliant mpg file. I hope you can fix soon, until then I will be using the old version. :)

Other than that I like the new version but it seems the old skins will not work?

couple more problems I'm havin:

in full screen there is a slight boarder along the right and bottom sides. I can resize the window by dragging that boarder. Old bs player didnt have any boarder at all...

The equalizer still doesnt work for me. Sucks cause that was by far the part I was most looking forward to in this release (its all that was missing for me from old bs player). When I goto the equalizer options menu, its just blank.

The new version seems to have lost subtitle support for .ogm.

  • -crashes when clicking on Audio in preferences

  • -in fullscreen auto pan & scan does not zoom movie to fill all screen area. (Movie is 4:3 and screen is 5:4)
There are still black lines on top and at bottom.
When I do a custom pan & scan ~7% (1024/960=1.06(6)) it works ok.
  • -also starting from build 501 on many movies bsplayer says that movie is corrupted and seeking will be slow. Despite alert seeking is fast and the movies are correct I'm pretty sure

Here's 2 more bugs found:

Bug 1: Space bar to pause videos doesn't function anymore
Bug 2: if I click "check for new version" in the about box and with zonealarm I deny the permission to connect to internet the about box seems to hang and it is impossible to close it!

Getting this error when I open the preference window.

New version is looking good :)

It just gave me a BSOD when starting a movie. I think it might be related to the use of overlay on my tv-out. With overlay turned off it didn't happen. But it's a wild guess.
I use winXP pro, the movie was divx4 opendivx.

Other: BSplayer didn't crash entirely, it seemed to continue working (at least it continued to respond to mouse events before I closed it down).

Yes, audio configuration has a bug. On my XP SP1 if I press continue, it works ok. But is indeed a bug.
