(Solved) Please help with Auto Pan Scan issue Hi all, The issue is that whenever I want to watch some older movies that were shot in 4:3 ratio on my 16:9 monitor, BS Player always overscan it as full screen while I want it to play as original ratio of 4:3. Meaning I should see pillarboxed version of the film. The problem is that when I use key 'O' it displays as it should be with pillarboxes but then when I watch other movies that were shot in 2.35:1 ratio, it overscans it again to full screen without letterboxing, basically zooming it and therefore losing picture information... Is there any option to always start the movies in original ratio? Thanks |
Pressing Numpad 5 should reset. |

I just don't get why BSPlayer doesn't behave like every other player. Playing movies at default ratio as they were shot instead of messing the ratio itself. |
Ok I finally solved it. To anyone having the same issue just go to: Options>Preferences>Video-- Then under General tab just uncheck "Cut top and bottom of video in full screen mode" Can't understand why they checked that option as a default. To the uninitiated folks they would watch the movie without realizing some shots are out of the screen. By the way black bars are your friends. It's the only way to see the movie as intended by the director to see, without missing any picture information. Gotta hate cropping, especially when it's done by default. |
