vertical lines on videos
 

hi!

if anyone has the same problem or is this a known issue or i haven't done anything.

i have very obvious vertical lines on mpg files I play. This can be solved by switching to overlay2.

however, for avi files, various different encoded avis all seem to produce videos with vertical lines. I don't see the same effects using another player, say WMP9 or Winamp5 or cyberDVD. the image quality is pretty obviously worse.

how should i go around solving this? perhaps this is a bug ?
