weird subtitles

my subtitles are in really really small fonts regardless of what font size I change it to, and show up in an area that's blacked off about half the video. I've tried changing the font size, and trying to move the subtitles up and down, but nothing really seems to work. can anyone help?

Are you sure it is BSPlayer's subtitle, or you have VobSub installed (green arrow in systray when playing a movie) ?

Flavour 26th June 2004 06:13 PM

i have vobsub, but there's no green arrow in the system tray.

OK, that happened to me once too, but they were huge, and surely was caused by VobSub. IIRC, go to options->preferencies->subtitles->font and select the one you want. And deselect adjust line if too long. See what is happening now.

hey, I got the second part about the preferences etc, but does the first part mean that I should delete VobSub? becuase I tried that and it doesn't seem to work... do you have any other suggestions?

I'll try to remember how I fixed this.

1. Delete the file named BSPlayer.yourname.xml in your instalation folder.
2. Open BSPlayer, go to preferences, subtitles, disable auto resize font if line is too long
3. Go to fonts, select the one you want
4. All should work now.

ergh, sorry, I'm stupid, but I cannot find the file that I'm supposed to delete. How do I delete it in the installation folder? I really appreciate your help...

99 % that is:

C:\program files\webtech

If you didn't tell it to go another way.

OK, solved for now. But is clearly BSPlayer's bug. Solved by unchecking the "draw subtitles on overlay". Now you can modify font size.

And now you can move subtitles lower than 0. Even on the black border.
