Cannot load any video files 1 Attachment(s) Since build 485 I have found that I am unable to load and play any video files (avi, ogm.mpeg......). The attachments show the exception that bsplayer throws up I attempt to load a file. Note, bsplayer will come up normally but then crashes when during file load. I suspect that when updating from old version to new I accidently left old data in the registery (maybe with bsrendv.dll ?) that causes a conflict when the video file is loaded. Any advice is welcome so I can get back to using bsplayer which is my preferred player. |
Had that too. Got it fixed I am not sure if it will work with you, but I had the same problem. Here's the fix: * open BSPlayer (without opening a movie!) * go to preferences and choose the other overlay method (if you had mode 1 use mode 2 now and vice-versa) * close player * open player again and load movie * watch your movie and be happy  Cheers, Smarties :P |
Smarties, You are a champion .... I tried your suggestion and it works - thank you very much as I was missing bsplayer as the preferred player... Gazza :D :D :D |
You're welcome Always happy when I can help people... Cheers, Smarties :P |
It worked!! Wow, Smarties. I have to agree with Gazza! I had about the exact same problem. "Overlay failed!" "Can't create DirectDraw surface" and the same error messages as Gazza when I tried to force RGB mode. But I hadn't closed the player after making those changes. ^^ Now it seems to work. Thanks. Easy does it, I guess. :P :D |
