BSplayer loads subs when it shouldn't
 

BSplayer loads .srt files when it shouldn't.

For example:
When playing file "umm umm CD3.avi"
It will load subs from "blah blah CD3.srt"

Check setting of "Auto load any subtitles in current directory"
( (rightclick) > Options > Preferences > Subtitles )

That still doesn't fix the problem. When playing movie A, if A does not have any subtitles it should not load subtitles because there aren't any for movie A. Instead, when playing movie A it loads subtitles for movie B. There's something wrong with the way BSplayer matches movie filenames with subtitle filenames.

I also have the same problem as DarkDraco, when a movie without a subtitle is playing, the previous loaded subtitle for another movie before is shown instead. It will be a easy fix. :wink: /Mixter

This is still a problem!
-I've got all my subs located in one directory, and if I load a movie which doesn't have subs, it just autoloads the first subtitle file in that directory anyway.. And YES, the option of autoloading subs is disabled... :wink:

Same there. Movies w/o subs in directory with other movies WITH subtitles are aparently a problem.
Luckily, showing of the subtitles could be disabled easily, but it is still a bug :wink:

But it's definitively better that BSplayer trying to load anything that seems fit, that when the bug will be, that BSplayer mostly did not load any subtitles :lol: :wink:

My point is:
BsPlayer should ONLY load subs if they're the EXCACT same filename as the movie playing. If no subtitle files with same filename exist, none should be loaded.

I disagree :) One of the nice features of BSPlayer is that it loads subtitles if the movie filename (without extension) matches the begining of the SRT filename. So it will load, for Willow.avi, the subtitles willow.srt, willow-NL.srt, willow-FR.srt, etc. That it loads subtitle files for non-subtitled movies is a bug, of course.

Lots of movies are divided into cd's size sections so the subs should match exactly to play with the right one. Not to mention series movies like Star Wars, Star Trek, etc. I get Return of the Jedi subs watching Phantom Menace.

again, i disagree, snausage. BSPlayer may have a bug in sometimes loading the wrong srt, sure. But the concept is great. I make various subs for one movie, for example lets assume again Willow, which is on two files: Willow_cd1.avi and Willow_cd2.avi. And subs in French and Dutch, for example. Lets call them Willow_cd1-FR.srt, Willow_cd2-FR.srt, Willow_cd1-NL.srt, Willow_cd2-NL.srt. When playing Willow_cd1, I want both Willow_cd1-FR.srt and Willow_cd1-NL.srt to load automatically. As you see, they do not match the avi filename exactly, yet they load. Why? Because the first part of the srt filename matches exactly the avi filename (without extension). I think this concept should remain, and the current bug get fixed. My 2 cents :)

The last update (bsplayer 1.1 build 814) doesn't fix that bug.
