812 non-Pro fails to open files with special char(s) in name I have a file with the character U+2153 in Filename (⅓ - 1/3). Media Player plays the file, BSPlayer doesn't. It's no big deal, I can live with erasing the character, but I wanted to report this anyway, as there are probably other characters which are affected. Thx again for this great piece of software! |
This sounds like the same problem I have with Japanese filenames. I can't open them in bsplayer unless I change the default non-unicode language in Windows. If I change this to Japanese then those videos will play.... BUT the playlist is broken. BSPlayer fails to load anything off the list. I've reverted back to 0.86 under which I can play anything I want :) As for your problem, I'm not sure what could be done to fix it... aside from someone making BSPlayer support unicode properly I guess. |
I'm not sure if this is problem of BSPlayer, Windows itself has probably a strange API bug that prevents access to files with non-standard characters. I recall that I encountered such a problem somewhere during my programming. |
