Playback problems, picture included

Lo all,

Just trying to configure my HTPC to use BSplayer for all my video playback needs however I'm having major problems.

A little background info first, the system is running WinXP Pro SP2 which has literally just been installed. The _only_ codec I have running on the system is the latest version of DivX. (official release) When I try playing a video through Media Player 9, it works fine (other than the fact it's using 95% system resources...) however when I try to play it through BS, I get the audio feed but just about no video.

I have had this problem before and I never did find a solution so I uninstalled DivX and used a different codec which seemed to clear the problem. However, firstly I don't like to be beaten and two DivX has always been pretty reliable on my other machines.

The system is a VIA Epia ITX system, using intergrated video etc.

Any suggestions would be more than welcome.

First of all, there is not only DivX but also Xvid. Both are requiered to play movies, sometimes one of them can't play the other kind of encoding.

And a good ideea is to disable "support for generic MPEG4" from DivX configuration and something like "decode all supported formats" from XviD.

I have the same problem, it appears to be hardware or driver problem.

Try forcing RGB mode. It sort of works for me (it shows picture correctly, but can't keep up). I have an old PCI TNT graphics card, based on nVidia chips. BSplayer worked fine in WinME, but it suddenly has problems in Win2k.

And if anyone figures out what the hack is wrong here, let us know.
