Seek is not working, window stops or is black

I experienced problems using Bsplayer 1.02.812 running on my Windows 2000 Professional:

1) When I try to seek in any video-file, the player stops to display the video (only the sound is heard and the last pic before seeking is displayed). Even when waiting long, the picture never comes back until stopping&restarting again from the beginning of the file!

2) When I e.g. press "strg+alt+del" during a video (the logininfo appears) and then press "esc", so I return to the normal windows screen with the video, the player has stopped showing the video, the movie-window is black now and I have to close the player. Same thing when I switch to the dosbox ("cmd") and back. Even the sound stops playing. The time continues counting until the end of the movie and stops then (even on repeat).

Tested on different filetypes
Any ideas what's wrong?
