Maybe we could all list the things we did to fix any sort of problems...
This way we could all learn from each other on how to fix them...

For me:

Problem: Movie will not play/crash...

Re-installing the codec pack helps;
If that fails re-installing the specific, latest codec helps;
Reboot and the re-install.

You can do that, it will help to update the faq guide! :D

v1.02--With this version I started having to brighten the pic with the color controls (video>color controls) brightness slider but the setting would reset whenever I paused or resized despite checking remember settings. Went into postprocessing settings to brighten (options>filters>ffdshow>check "picture properties"> luminance gain slider> "apply") and it keeps the brightness level now but it took some fiddling and it would be a lot easier if the color controls held their settings.

I think there's something about this in the faq but it's vague and I'm uncertain just what it's about.
