I would suggest to install in the English language.
After installation change language to your choice.
(rightclick > Options > Language)

Does it really freeze during installation or ....?
No error-report?
Any memory-resident programs?

I have the same kind of problem.
During install, these commands seem to bug :

Execute: "d:\Program Files\Webteh\BSplayer\bsplayer.exe" "-SLNG" "English" "S" "4" "V"

Execute: "d:\Program Files\Webteh\BSplayer\bsplayer.exe" "-UNISN" "English" "S" "4" "V"

Execute: "d:\Program Files\Webteh\BSplayer\bsplayer.exe" "-SEXT" "English" "S" "5" "E"

At each of these steps I have to kill the BSPLAYER task, then installation program continues. But at the end It can't launch Bsplayer.

I tried the ZIP version too, but the same problem occurs (when I run bsplayer.exe, nothing displays, but there is a "Bsplayer" in the tasks list).

Any ideas ?

P.S: I am under Windows 98

this is exactly the point when my computer freezes and i have to reset.

I have tried closing down all appications including the antivirus programs
and turning off the firewall of Xp with no success.
