If you read BSPeter's "READ THIS FIRST BEFORE POSTING" post you probably noticed those lines

are aware that with respect to codecs, preferably stay away from codec-packs. Codec-packs do tempt users to install much more than necessary. In this connection note: "More" surely isn't equivalent to "better"! To the contrary! The art is knowing to restrict yourself!...
an d so on..
Please if you don't exactly know what to install, don't use codec packs.
Instead install only the codecs needed for your movies playback.
Still in BSPeter's post, you'll find a link to the adicoto's list of codecs. If you have a recent computer (less than 3-5 years) I suggest you to not install ffdshow neither (if you don't need it for other reasons) but only the DivX/XviD codecs plus the one you really need (remember also the audio codecs).

Then try to see if the artifact is still there.. With chich movies do you have that artifact? To know what is the encoder for a given movie.. read again BSPeter's post (hey Peter how much did it thake to you to write donw that Help2Help post? It's a huge source of good and needed information :) ) and search for GSpot and similar programs.

Bye

i know myself as a advanced user... i have computer since 1998... i dont install any bullshit codec on my computer.. i just install what i need...

but there is a lot of codeck... who knows wich is the good...

gordian? klite?...

As an advanced user you should know that gknot and klite are codec PACKS (and if you read BSPeter post you surely saw the lines where he tell to NOT use codec packs).
Furter also if you have read the BSPeter post, and as I suggested you, you should have found also lines where GSpot were named. It's an utility to know which one codec was used to compress the video file -> using it will let you know which codec do you need to install onto your computer.

I used gordian knot codec pack for a long time, it's really soft and clean, if you want you can use it (except for the DivX 5 codec, since I had problems with the one included in such a package, so download DivX 5 or 6 from other sites).

If after using GSpot you find that a needed codec is not installed on your pc, then post again a message by saying which codec do you need..

It seems to me too, but since I can't reproduce this, I tought that it can be caused by the codecs installed.
If the problem persists and more info will be given, then we can discuss of a probably BSplayer fault

let me tell you this...

i see a lot of people whos screaming because thay cant play a file a movie, etc...

i using gordian 1.7 since i dont know.... and from that time i could not found a movie what i can't play! except ogg's and mkv's:D:D:D

when the showtime skin was packed to the bsplayer... the gordian is worked proper with the bsplayer.. so.. i think this is some kind of bsplayer issue..
