BSP v2.12.941 - Hangs windows for ~5 min on file open
 

Well, title says it all.
When I open a file BSP hangs the whole OS, not just itself. I can't open folders, start menu doesn't show up, even Ctrl+Alt+Delete doesn't work. No disk activity, no processor activity either! Happens only on .avi files, .wmv open normally.
Other players have no problem, opening these same files in like a second!
Help?
My config:
Chipset: Intel P945
CPU: Intel Pentium D945
GPU: NVidia GF 7900 GS

Can you also post the filters used to decode avi files (with the file loaded -> right-click -> Options -> Filters -> Advanced)?

It can be the antivirus that try to unpack bsplayer.exe before every open action, but it's strange that it doesn't do the same with wmv files :?

I have the same phenomenon. BS Player hangs windows when started. I haven't waited that long though. Will try tonight.

It has the same in Safe mode, so no Antivirus problem, etc...

Do you have all the needed codecs installed on your system ?
If so, try to re-register quartz.dll
