Changed my monitor, now I cant see full screen OK guys, I tried searching but couldn't really find a solution. I just changed from a 17" normal screen to a 22" widescreen. Now when I view videos in full screen its just blank and the subtitles squashed in the middle. I hit "M" to put it into Movie mode and I can see it fine, here in lies the second problem, the subtitles are then still squashed into the middle of the screen about two characters wide, Any ideas whats going on? Cheers, Russ. |
If you hit "F" what is happening ? Do you have any option enabled in video rendering about "at start swich resolution to..." ? What's the resolution you use on your monitor ? |
when its windowed, it works fine, but when it goes to full screen, no video and the subtitles squashed in the center. When I hit M it seems to bring back the video, but not the subs, they stay squashed. The resolution is 1680x1050 |
And if you hit "F" does the same ? Can't test this resolution on my laptop but I will try to reach it on my PC this evening. |
Tested on 1600x1200 (my monitor is standard 4:3) and no problem at this resolution. At this moment, I don't have any clue about this. |
I tried various rendering settings and the same thing happens. I even tried changing my graphics card driver and nothing... most odd. Especially seen as on Windows Media Player and WinAmp they work fine, I don't think its a CODEC issue... nooo... please tell me I dont have to use WMP... noo... |
Can you do a screenshot and post here ? |
Will do, cheers, Russ. |
Can you check if "Don't resize video in full screen" is selected? (under rightclick > Options > Preferences > Video > [General] ) If so: deselect it. Further: Is "resize OSD and subtitle font automatically" selected? Under "Preferences > Subtitles" maybe check "Draw subtitles to overlay surface" (P.S.: For wide screen the option "Cut top and bottom in full screen mode" may be of interest.) |
I tried that, now the subtitles arnet bunched in the middle, but they are really big. When I click the movie on full size it still disappears until I hit M twice... this is real odd How can I get a screenshot including the desktop and video at the same time, I can either grab one or the other...? |
What is fontsize selected for the subtitles? Rightclick > Options > Preferences > Subtites > [Subtitle properties] Then click on (Font) Or (only with a movie+subtitles loaded): rightclick > Subtitles > Subtitle properties > Font  P.S.: Quote:

OK, I think i have fixed it, I have to select keep movie aspect ratio and then do as you say with the subtitles draw to overlay surface. They still dont look as good as they did as I have to specify the size, but at least it seems to be working... Cheers, Russ. |
Still seems a bit strange, what you have. Anyhow if it is acceptable :) |
The same problem here. Alas all that solves the problem only on first sight. You can see full screen with subs horizontally aligned (that was the problem described above) but most of the screen remains unseeable. I mean the ratio is big and you can see only the center part of what you would see if not in full screen mode. The left and right part of the screen is hidden. So, anyone with any suggestions? Thanks in advance... |
Actually I found the solution. The perfect solution for any problem. Reinstall... |
