BS Player 2.21 & x264 codec

Hi.

To play x264's file, i put on my PC CoreAVCdecoder, MP4splitter and with ffdshow (H264 is checked on libavcodec). But when i try to read the file with BS Player, it doesn't work.

With MPC Player, we can add external filters in a dialog box (by example CoreAVC) and it works but i dunno how to do with BS Player.

Does someone can help me ? I have ridden the forum about it but haven't found a solution

Re: BS Player 2.21 & x264 codec

1. BSPlayer can display H.264 video streams.

2. You need either CoreAVC, or ffdshow/libavcodec but not both.

3. Are you sure your files are in MP4 format?

The file i try to read : codec video : avc1/codec audio : mp4a.

It works with VLC (wich doesn't require codecs) and MPC player but not BS Player.

BSPlayer should play a file with H.264 video and AAC (mp4a) audio. It should not be necessary to manually load filters. The reason why Media Player Classic might work while other DirectShow programs don't is that MPC has some internal filters not available for other applications. Are you sure that the right media splitter is installed?

It's a little bit unusual to have mp4 files with H264 or even x264. I will rather bet on MKV files, wich will require an MKV splitter, such as Gabest or Haali.
If really an MP4 file, wich MP4 splitter do you have on your system ? Do you get an error message ? If so, what does it states ?

MP4 is the official container for AVC and AAC. But since it's so limited, releasers have no reason to use it. Only place where MP4 is popular are audio only files in AAC format.

There are a lot of iPod users and of course the files for them
Lots of sites offering many MP4 files created for this purpose.

I have MP4splitter 1.0.0.2 and the matroska pack too.

All you need is Haali Media Splitter and it should work on BSPlayer
