No audio when playing WMV files. I never used to have this problem until recently. WMV files will play in BS player, the video works fine, but no audio. When I play these WMV files in Windows Media Player or VLC player, both audio and video works fine. Does anybody know what's going on? I have BS Player 1.21, but even with the latest version, this problem still persists. Please help. Thanks. |
What are settings under (rightclick >) Options > Preferences > Audio (output device) And - with video file loaded - what (audio)filters do you have under (rightclick >) Options > Filters > Advanced (also click on the [+]-es). |
The Audio output device is set to Creative Sound Blaster PCI (my sound card). The Filter when playing a wmv file just shows "WMVideo 9 Decoder DMO" and the file name that's playing. The Filter when playing a avi file shows Creative Sound Blaster PCI (with [+]) EQ DivX Decoder Filter (with [+]) Moonlight Odio Dekoda (with [+]) Avi Splitter Source |
In audio preferencies (rightclick->options->preferencies->audio ) on the right bottom (output device) select Default DirectSound device instead of Creative.... |
I tried setting the output device to - Default DirectSound - Default WaveOut Device - Default Sound: Creative Sound Blaster None of them work. Any idea?? :( |
Probably just one thing to do. Reinstall WMV codecs 9 from microsoft site. |
I downloaded this codec http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multime...ecs-Pack.shtml and installed it, and it still doesn't work. I think wmv and BSPlayer must have had a HUGE fight and they no longer like each other anymore. |
