[SOLVED] Problems playing DVD files. HI everybody! The audio of my BS.Player Pro version doesn't work when I playing DVD files. Many original DVD files has audio in AC3 (Dolby Digital), so I have try many times play those DVD in my BS.Player and... nothing. The video works OK, but I can't listen the audio. However, all the other files works OK. How can I fix this problem? PLEASE HELP MEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck. |
Yes you can fix. Just install AC3Filter and all should work fine. |
HI adicoto! I already did that. I visited free-codecs.com, downloaded it the latest version of AC3Filter and installed it inmediatly; but that codecs only works if I have installed PowerDVD Deluxe. When I delete PowerDVD Deluxe, even if AC3Filter is installed, BSPlayer doesn't work with DVD files (the audio). I would like to use only BSPlayer as my unique player of video, no two (BSPlayer and PowerDVD Deluxe). Can you or anybody else help me again???????? Good Luck!!!!!! |
To play DVD files you need an MPEG2 decoder and a DVD source filter. And of course, an AC3 and a DTS filter for the audio part. (like dtsac3source and/or AC3Filter) When you play the DVD without having PowerDVD, wich filters (source and splitter) are used ? |
To answer adicoto's question, with the DVD video loaded, right click on BSplayer control window, then go to Options -> Filters -> Advanced There you'll find all the items he asked you ;) |
Perhaps also check your settings under (rightclick >) Options > Preferences> Audio "For AC3 decoding use" .... (Output device) |
DTSAC3Source is only needed to read & packetize *.ac3 and *.dts files. It's not used during DVD (DVD Source) or MPEG-2 PS (Elecard MPEG-2 Demultiplexer) playback. |
I have some DVD (Video Disk) with DTS that cannot be played by my combination of Elecard/AC3Filter decoders, but play OK when dtsac3source is installed. |
HI adicoto, Tizio and everybody! I went to Options -> Filters -> Advanced, and I got the following information: + Default DirectSound Device. + Cyberlink Video/SP Decoder(PVDV7). + AC3 Filter. -MPGE-2 Demultiplexer. -Source. So, what next ?. Good Luck!!!!!! |
Take a look also to the option BSPeter suggested you to take a look at.. Plus, make sure to select the right output channels in AC3Filter options (with the video opened, right-click -> Options -> Filters -> Advanced -> AC3Filter) If you have a 2 speakers stereo system, and you choose dolby 5.1 output, you will not be able to hear the sound correctly (if not at all) |
Is DTSac3source installed ? |
If the sound were not demultiplexed corectly, the splitter should be changed. Putting a filter (dtsac3source) where it does not belong to remedy a given single problem will only produce problems in the future. In this case I would look what data does AC3Filter receive, if its sound level meters move reasonably in sync with the signal, what is the selected output format (bitdepth, num of channels - as Tizio said) is spdif passthrough is active. The defaults used to be very conservative last time I checked: Stereo, 16-bits, but that might have changed. Next I would check what does the Sound Renderer show (the bitdepth, channels, and ACM format will be reflected there). |
