BSPlayer stealing focus in multi-monitor setup More of an annoyance than a bug. I have a dual monitor setup, and typically have bsplayer running and maximised on the secondary display, and several other programs (Word/Excel/Firefox etc) on the primary display. If I interact with bsplayer (to pause it, adjust the volume etc) and then return to using another program on the primary display, bsplayer will keep trying to steal focus every few seconds, for about 10-20 seconds. It's aggravating, especially when I'm typing something else out and I end up accidentally invoking strange menu options in bsplayer that I don't know how to reverse. I'm using BSPlayer Pro v2.24, and my graphics card is a generic with an 8800GTS chipset. |
And if you have BSplayer and the other application both on the first monitor this behavior doesn't happen? |
same problem Same problem on double monitor setup. BSplayer running on main monitor steals focus from app window on second monitor. This is very annoying bug, especially when you try to answer instant message while watching movie. BSplayer window got focused and letters are interpreted as commands. When both windows are on first monitor there is no such problem. upd Easiest way to reproduce a bug - switch player to fullscreen mode on first monitor. upd Bug seems to be fullscreen focus retaining mechanism. But bug can be reproduced with both windows on first monitor. Steps: 1) Start a clip 2) switch to fullscreen 3) switch to windowed mode 4) immediately after previous step set focus to another window 5) bsplayer steals focus |
Bug still can be reproduced in BsPlayer Pro 1.41.1003 |
Bug still reproduces in BSPlayer 2.50 free when both windows on main monitor. Any suggestions on how to fix or disable this behavior? |
Can anyone from dev-team pay attention to this bug? It is REALLY annoying. |

Is there any way to switch off this behavior, by adjusting some setting or ini-file parameter? |
I don't know if this is relevant to this situation, but I noticed BS Player (2.51 in my case) returns to the foreground if you click another window before waiting a few seconds (4 or 5). Turning off "Auto hide main window" in General/General settings stops it from happening. It seems like a bug and may have been submitted already (haven't checked). EDIT: You actually have to do something to the player such as moving the player window for the bug to occur. Apparently it's a very old bug: http://forum.bsplayer.com/bug-report...w-problem.html |
We cannot reproduce this behaviour on any configuration. |
Very odd. I just installed BS Player in a clean install of windows 7 x64 running in a virtual machine (vmware) using all the default settings. The problem occurs. |
