brightness problem

I have a problem with the brightness of my screen ....

i always used to just adjust the brightness/contrast/..and so on

but lately it just doesn't work anymore .

When i move the trackbar in the settings to adjust the brightness , nothing happens

I tried re-installing BS-player , reinstall other programs that might had effect on it , but nothing happens

maybe i just have to buy a new screen , just asking if there would be any other solution to this

1. If you really mst adjustbrightness/contrst... to each video file then you must buy a new display.
2. Those functions are available through the videocard drivers. Maybe you did upgraded them ?
3. Does this happens with all video files (to be unable to adjust) or with some types of video files (just MPEG or MKV ones)
4. Can you tell us wich filters/decoders are used to play the files ?
5. Have you tryied changing the video rendering methode from internal overlay to overlay mixer and back ?
6. Your OS ?

I agree. Brightness/contrast adjustments should only be touched while watching badly encoded material. Quality video can only be broken by them (clipped levels, banding). Get a new display and/or ensure that the room is sufficiently dark.

When you open a file with BSPlayer, go to options -> preferences -> video and on the label named "vide orendering" try swiching from internal renderer to overlay mixer.
BSPlayer have it's own brightness/contrast adjustment option. Open a video file, rightclick on the main window, vide -> colour controls.
