Video freezes

I'm using the newest version of BS player (bsplayer236.990_clip.exe was the installation file), and whenever I watch a video, doesn't matter what kind of, the video freezes at some point. It usually does this when scrolling or going fullscreen, but if I don't do anything to the video, it will play normally for some time, and then finally freeze. This doesn't happen with other players (VLC for example), and it didn't happen with the previous versions of BS player. I've tried uninstalling and deleting the BS player folder, but the problem still exists.

Can I download the next newest version from somewhere? I think that would at least for me solve the problem.

edit. and the same also happens with the beta (2.40) that is available on the website.

Probably this problem is related to the video card drivers, or to a specific codec.
Have you installed new graphic drivers recently? (maybe through Windows Update?)
Installed new codecs?

Can you tell us the codec used to decode your video (with the video playing -> right-click -> Options -> Filters -> Advanced)?
Does only the player freeze, or does it freeze the entire system?

When you uninstalled BSplayer have you also deleted the settings folder (START -> Run... -> type "%AppData%\BSplayer\" and press OK)?

Actually I've installed an entirely new video card; the Geforce GTX 295, and with it the newest drivers; 182.46. But my old video card used the same set of drivers, the geforce drivers, just older versions. I am also not sure if the problems started immediately after I installed the new card, I think it worked well.

It is just the video that freezes, the sound works well but the image freezes. If I exit fullscreen, the window returns to the resolution of the video, but it is as zoomed in as it is in fullscreen mode.

I didn't delete the settings folder, but upon fresh installation all my settings were still reseted and all codecs had to be downloaded again. I'm running Vista BTW.
