Problem with mp4

I have some video files which are .mp4. I use for them media player. I get warning massage and it begins without picture (i tried to set in options: directshow, shockwave,..) . In other way i have other mp4 files which i can run it. Also from time to time i get audio files which are only audio without pictures but they have mp4 extension too.

My questions are:

1. I want to use BS.Player for mp4 files. What i have to do? If is that complicated then give me suggestion what to do with media player
2. Why i can run some mp4 files and some i can't?
3. Is there any way to set-up when is only audio file to start WinAmp for music?

I have K-Lite-Codec pack (some newer ver). I do not planning to uninstall it. I just want to fix this bcz everything works perfect except this which i mentioned.

1. Open BSPlayer's preferences, go to file types and chech the box next to MP4 files. This way, BSPlayer wil be the default player for MP4 extension.
2. If some files play OK, some don't, then there is a codec missing on your system. Probably AVC one, and therefore BSPlayer can't play the video part of such files.
3. As far as I know, there isn't. Renaming them to MPA, the way they should be ?

And if you have installed a codec pack and want to use it instead of BSplayer preferred codecs, be sure to uninstall the BSplayer local codecs (run bspcodecdl.exe located in BSplayer installation directory and uninstall local codecs)

Ok, i set to start from BS.

I have to uninstall all these?

There is a new problem. Files which i didn't run with media player now i can run with BS but a picture is late for several sec and a sound goes normal. What is the problem?

Can you be a little more specific ? Which kind of files ? Do we talk about HD files (1020x720 or 1920x1080 ) ?

Any help???

adicoto 21st April 2009 08:34 PM

At this moment, I personally lack any ideea. Can you tell us which filters are used to decode audio stream (AAC). If ffdshow, can you install and use COreAAC instead (never had problems with it) ? Your hardware is good enough to decode HD material (but this is not the case, it's a simple 320x240 pixels video file), so...there shouldn't be any problem at all.

Rocho 22nd April 2009 04:09 PM

Where to check to see what decode stream i use?
I have installed K-Lite Codec Pack 4.4.5 i think.

adicoto 22nd April 2009 05:24 PM

Play one of those files, rightclick -> options -> filters

Rocho 23rd April 2009 04:11 PM

What then? I click on AC3 Filter (v1.01a).

adicoto 23rd April 2009 09:24 PM

If you click on advanced, you will have the list of all filters used. Post it please. And also, if possible to post a link (or send it by PM) to such a file for testing.
