your subtitle file(s) should be named my_movie.srt
or for example my_movie.fra.srt and my_movie.eng.srt
the extension (here srt) has no influence (it could be txt, sub ... as well)
(I believe it works, although I've not used that for a long time [for me vobsub loads the subs instead of bsplayer])
