Question Installation problem

When trying to install BSPlayer Pro 2.51 into Vista 64, installation freezes when trying to uninstall codecs. I am trying to update to the latest version. The install program launches the codec manager and asks if I want to install the various codecs it says are missing. I tell it to and then nothing. The program freezes. It says it is uninstalling the MPEG2 decoder (local) and then freezes. The hard drive light is lit and active, but even leaving it running for 30+ minutes results in nothing more happening. Any ideas, suggestions or other will be much appreciated.
