Default strange bug when film finished

Hi, I know there are a lot of posts about bsplayer crashing at the end of a movie but I didn't find my error in them ( maybe didn't look enough!! )
here is what it says:

access violation at adress 004936D6 in module 'bplay.exe'. Read of adress 00000420

and the frame rate isn't regular ( fast slow fast slow... )
strange,

seeya,
scotty81

funny thing, but i have this error for a few days now. i don't know what caused it because i use bsplayer 086 build 494 for a few months now and with no problems. anyway, i got the EXACT error as you and more than that i've observed that it won't crash at the end at the movie but at the end of the playlist. i've tried to uninstall different codecs with no results. i use win xp / divx 5.0.4, xvid and a few others. by the way is there hope for a new version to patch this? again, it used to work _nicely_ since a few weeks ago... as for the framerate, it happend once to oscillate but since then it worked flawless. except that annoying crash.

Do you mean that it happens now on every movie, whatever the codec !
It's an issue that I don't have. You should give more details on your environment.

What appears in the log if you run the previous debug version?

I've found nothing in the Log, but I've managed to reproduce the bug, by checking the "Close movie at end" option in Preferences/General.

The same occurs with DivX or XVid, it seems not to be related to codecs but more to a behaviour of the system.
I've XPSP1 too, a 64MB video too, 1248x1024 r?©solution too, and my system is not on C: but P: . I stick to DX8.1 and widows update is removed. But As I currently make a lot of proggies install/uninstall (P2P, ICQ, IRC, VOIP, F/W, GKnot, Codecs) tweaking the registry and the services, I couldn't tell what makes the difference. :?

 On a cleaner machine, running Win2k/SP3 and BSPlayer 494, mainly with DivX5.03/vobsub/MP3, the movies autoclose properly !

xlv, i guess you're right: i have checked the 'close movie on end'. still we got different configurations. i got win xp without SP1 (it doesn;t bring anything really useful and it eats an extra 10mb of ram), 1024x768x32, directx 8.1, nvidia mx with the latest drivers... anyway, it used to close the damn file properly. and yes, it does this one every movie, regardless of type / codec. and yes, i got lots of progs add /removed to/from my system, and yes i've tweaked the system too, and yes my old-lazy duron its a little overrated these days (750 -> 6*133=800), yes i use ntfs... yes the power cord is plugged in... etc.

with bsplayer 0.86 Build 493 it crashes with almost the same error (the memory address is identical, words are different ;P ), but the window has different widget style.

Probably an XP problem ( close at end never worked under XP for me )
but the question is why does it F... now and why did it work fine before!!
I haven't changed anything!!

Yes. It may be interesting to see if it's related to the fact that some people can shutdown the computer at end. And some others can't, but maybe don't have the close player at end error msg.
