Default Cannot watch movie!!!

Hi i tried to watch a movie (the file icon is windows media player, and underneath the file name, it says video clip). I have tried to play with windows media player, but only sound no picture, and when i used bsplayer to open it, a messsage popped up and say 'unknown file format'.
Can anyone help me pls? MANY THANKS!!!!
