Default explorer thumbnail preview

Does anyone know if there is any way to disable the thumbnail preview for video files in XP explorer

1. I display folders on the left => I don't have this problem (in wXP, it was still an hindrance in w2k) [+ I only use details mode to display files.]

using this you disable the thumbnails preview but also the set of features ('common tasks' displayed on the left).
If you just want to disable the video preview, I think there is something you can do with the registry but I can't tell more...
