Default Change file icon?

Just downloaded this great player!

In Preferences/General there is an option to change the file icon for registered file types. But it doesn't work.
I really want to change the default icon, it is really ugly...
Is this not possible?

win2000/XP:

Windows Explorer --> tools --> folder options --> file types

select avi or whatever you want

--> advanced --> change icon --> browse

it's almost the same for win98 (and Me and old NT I think) except folder options are accessed thru the 'view' menu if I remember correctly and you must choose by filetype (selection by extension is not available) and it was not an 'advanced' button but 'edit' or something like that

Thanks , but I know how to change the file icon in the Windows shell.

What I was asking was why the option to change the file icon in the BSplayer Preferences was not working.
If it was working, it would be a nice and easy way to change all the file icons BSplayer supports at once.
