Problem Reverting to 0.86 However, I now have both audio (clicking noise) & video (gray screens) problems with 0.86. I have reinstalled the codec's, which did not solve the problem. And things still play correctly with other players. But I BS Player better. Any suggestions on how to clean up 0.86? Thanks |

OK, I solved the problem I was having with Ver 1.0 on at least on of my computers by installing the codecs suggest in this posting; http://forum.bsplayer.org/viewtopic.php?t=3042 But I still don't have the foggiest idea "what" cured the problem. It would be great if someone who understood the various codecs could pull together a single codec installation package that would help those of us that are just blindly following cookie crumb trails & hoping we find the correct set. Now that Ver 1 is working, I am back to loving BSPlayer! |

I have made such a package for personal use BUT i have not written an uninstaller yet, so i'd prefer not to distribute it before i do that. What you generally need is: AC3filter (sourceforge.net) CoreAAC -upcoming, not much used yet (rarewarez) FFDshow (sourceforge.net) (select at least divx, div3, xvid!) XviD codec if you still have problems For OGM's, AVI's with OGG audio and MKV's: OGGds (tobias page) MatroskaSplitter (sourceforge.net guliverkli) -->VSfilter for subs if BSplayer subs don't work for you yet WHATEVER U DO, DON'T INSTALL NIMO CODEC PACK |

Heck, I think lots of people would love to have your codec package even without an uninstaller. And it would seem to be a solution for a lot of the problems people are having. I came across the K-Lite codec package. http://home.hccnet.nl/h.edskes/finalbuilds.htm Any comment on its usefulness? Thanks! |

Well when bst and crew releases a STABLE v1.0 build, I will rewrite the installer script as to include it and an uninstaller. I do not feel comfortable releasing it in it's current form coz there's a lot of registry actions working behind the scene's, where the user doesn't have any control over, necessary for configuring bsplayer v086 and with file associations. With the improvements regarding the xml config file and the finally correctly working file associations in v1.0, I could really simplify the script enuff that it'd be worth rewriting. Regarding the k-lite codec pack, it seems decent enuff but it installs a lot of stuff you don't really need. Remember that the more you install the more chance you have of codecs conflicting etc. |
