My rewritten installer from yesterday deleted all codec description for VfW on uninstallation. This is fixed with a new installer that I just uploaded. So if you downloaded the XviD 1.1 final installer before 31st of december 8:30 a..m. middle european time, please re-download the installer and don't use uninstall, just overwrite everything with running the new installer. Sorry for the mess!

Is that offical XviD codec any better than FFDShows XviD decoder filter?

adicoto 1st November 2006 04:48 PM

I think the best place to ask that is on XviD forums. They will explain if and why is XviD better than FFDshow. As an noob opinion, FFDshow can decode XviD but never heard of a filter able to decode...FFdshow. DivX and XviD are two implementations of MPEG4 standard and FFdshow can handle both implementations. That's the ideea, hope I made myself understood.
