new bsplayer does only play certain files

i had an old bsplayer that was working but i thought i'd update mine so i downloaded the latest bsplayer. the new one will not play all my videofiles although i have the codecs that are needed. i can play some in wmp but not in bs. does anyone know why?

Could yoube a little more specific about what codecs are used to play those files ? Old BSPlayer must tell you which ones.
