Default Very dumb question...

Hi , I've just downloaded bsplayer 1.00_ rc1_808 after some friends told me about it. Initially all looks pretty good , i have the right codecs for playing avi ( divX Xvid) , .DAT file, .mpg file & .rm real media stuff okay.

What I don't get , is how just to play a normal DVD disc properly ??
when dvd is inserted I currently have it set to autoplay using powerDVD..this is fine. With Bsplay , if I goto file open , I see 2 folder - audio_ts & video_ts on the disc. The audio_ts folder contains nothing ..the video_ts contains VIDEO_TS.BUP
VIDEO_TS.IFO
VTS_01_0.BUP
VTS_01_0.IFO
VTS_01_0.VOB
VTS_01_1.VOB
VTS_01_2.VOB
VTS_01_3.VOB
VTS_01_4.VOB
VTS_01_5.VOB
VTS_02_0.BUP
VTS_02_0.IFO
VTS_02_1.VOB

Do I have to add all the VOB files to a playlist to get them to play in order? I tried this & there is period between the files when the play window closes , then re-opens with next chapter! Also the movie I'm playing is japanese w/english & chinese subs....but I cant get them working?

Any ideas please , to help an embarrased noob

cheers

BSPlayer doesn't support yet normal DVD playback. But, as you have seen, it can play VOBs, but it can't play subtitles from DVD.

But don't go too far. Feature seems to be close.

Default Playing DVD's

Okay...

My question is related to other's I see posted in the forum. I now understand that the BSplayer can't yet play DVD's but it will play the VOB files. My problem is that I can play the VOB's on the copied DVD (I get video), but I get no audio..??.

What's my solution..??. Am I missing a codec??. It plays fine under PowerDVD.

I really hope I can get this to work, because I'm starting to like the player :?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, you lack an AC3 codec or filter. Install one and all should be ok.
