No Codecs work

I recently downloaded the Wild Arms series in ogm format and the newest BSPlayer seemed to have some problems with the ogms (the build 808). so i downloaded 806 again and installed it but now, NONE of my codecs work.
almost all my movies crash and/or the video freezes, especially with avis.
at this point i am ready to uninstall all the codecs and start fresh.
is this a bad idea? and how hard would it be to do?

I dont know what to do at this point. please help, this is getting to be a pain in the ass.
