Default not loading subtitles

llo

I can't seem to load a subtitle
when I load a movie, an after that, the subtitle (.sub)
I see in the main screen (where the buttons are) No Subtitle (where there was before I loaded the movie the version nr of bsplayer)

what is wrong here ?

are these regular text subtitles ?
vobsub subs (which too are .sub files (+ .idx files)) can't be read directly by bsplayer
(they're read by vobsub)
