YOu don't need a DVD decoder. That one is used for cracking DVDs. YOu need an MPEG2 decoder to watch DVDs. Search for Elecard or BitCtrl decoder.

Ok, Ive downloaded the Bitctrl decoder and installed it, now how do I make it work with DVDs on Windows 98SE fresh install, how do I implement it to work with BSPlayer? It doesn't recognise MPG2 as a file type on WIN98SE, and it doesn't recognise when I put DVDs in, how do I get BSPlayer to recognise when I stick one in? How do I get it to play it?

Sorry for all the questions but its the only way I'll learn.

Thank you to all who are patient ;)

Default Mpeg2 Codec

You might have to download an mpeg2 codec. I did to get .vob files to work with BS player on my computer with Windows 98 SE.
Check out -

for the codec zip file.

Ok, I got my old WinDVD program to run (I temperarily lost the serial code, found it!) and that is a sufficient decoder/codec. But how can I make BSPlayer just play the DVD itself, from the DVDs menus, rather than load vob files, cause they don't work when I click on them, meaning perhaps that it is not a sufficient codec. However, I noticed when I downloaded the newest codec the last post mentioned, when I went to options to see the filters, my Intervideo DVD was gone, replaced only with that other one. Weird, there is so much I don't understand.

My ultimate goal is to take frame captures from my DVDs, I've been trying for years! lol, never works, I could have made a million with all the time I have put into it.

BSPlayer can't play DVD menus, just vobs yet.
