can't play avi file that wmp10 plays

I am trying to play an avi file which is encoded in xvid 4. It plays fine in WMP10. But in BSPlayer, I keep clicking on play and it never "starts". It just won't play. Any tips? Thank you.

try uninstalling all divx an xvid (and similar) codecs, and then either try ffdshow or some good not bloatered codec pack (like coda)...
