No audio in VBR mp3 avi's.

Strangely I'm not getting any sound in any of my video playing software including bsplayer when i choose avi's which contain vbr mp3. Others that won't play it back include powerdvd6, mediaplayer 10 and irfanview.

The only player that will work is mediaplayer classic where it does have sound but the video playback is then slow and jerky.

I've check all my codecs and re-installed divx3.11 so theres absolutely no reason why it shouldn't work though theres apparently no native support for vbr audio in avi's anyway.

Any idea why stream1 audio thats VBR in avi's refuses to play on bsplayer?

No ideea. But AFAIK, there is no more CBR sound in avis since ages ago. I never had any problem with VBR audio, using both divx audio decoder and elecard decoder.
