Vista and video overlay ATI Radeon X1900 ATI Catalyst 7.3 Control Centre settings: main display cloned with digital panel Clone mode shows overlay in theatre mode (full screen) BS.Player 2.16 settings: Video Rendering - internal renderer overlay (default) mode 1 filter managment: enable - "allow intermediate filters" disable- "enable advanced graph building" K-Lite Codecs 2.87 I can watch videos in windowed mode and in full screen , but not on overlay (on TV). TV shows my desktop and BSPlayer window. The same hardware and software works perfect with Win XP SP2. What's wrong? Video drivers, BS.Player settings, codecs? Any suggestions? |

Probably the support for Vista isn't perfect yet. I use extended desktop mode (allways) and don't have problems. Running Vista Ultimate 32bit, x700PRO LE: I use overlay mixer |

From ATI/AMD Knowledge Base: Symptoms: When outputting to a secondary display such as a TV, HDTV or monitor, the theater mode settings for clone mode do not function. Cause: In Windows Vista, Windows Media Player 11 and Windows Media Center do not use Overlay. Overlay is required for the Overlay Theater Mode to work. Solution: When using software that uses overlay to display video, the Theater Mode function will work correctly. Q: Would BS.Player use in future overlay? |

If you select the appropriate rendering mode BSplayer already support output to overlay surface: Open BSplayer preferences (CTRL+P) then select "Video" section and in there click on "Video rendering" tab. Select the appropriate rendering mode from the "Rendering mode" sroll list
