Bsplayer lite keeps crashing when opening any video files

I just downloaded the latest free version of Bsplayer and lately I've been having problems playing any kind of video file (xvid, divx, mpg, wmv). Whenever I double click on a video file bsplayer opens and starts to play the file but after 1-10 seconds the video freezes but the audio is still playing. When I go to close bsplayer my computer freezes for a minute then goes back to normal. Most of the time I get an error message saying the certain video file cannot be found even though the file is in same spot.

I have the latest versions of xvid code 1.1.3, ffdshow and ac3filter.
