Double subtitles

And my second problem is that quite often, I see subtitles automatically when they load, but when I press S, there are two subtitle lines overlapping. So, with subtitles switched off, I still see them - they are grey and I cannot change their positions or any other props. Any idea how to switch the default subtitles off?
