Changing options during playback

Changing the postprocessing level (options->preferences->Divx) while a file is opening causes the following error message. It happens as soon as you try opening preferences from the menu.

I can use "b" to go to the next item in the playlist. But I can't go back using "z". And yes, there is more than one item in the playlist (so I'm trying to go from the second item to the first).
