I can resize the font... I don't know why you think I can't. I don't even meant that video card doesn't matter, I meant that in this concrete case it is probably not to the cause of the difference....

Tiao most probably do use overlay... he should use "Draw subtitles to Overlay surface" to reproduce the problem. That's the key. When the subtitle is drawn to the overlay surface, and not as plain...
