I made the display brighter but it didnt change anything. even when i moved the slider 100% to the right. Why is this happening? someone?

On some movies I cannot get audio. Not even after I select directsound or waveout as the default audio source and ac3 as the default filter.
Audio works perfectly with video lan, but i dont like...

bs player pro 1.36 :825,5
Movies are too quiet, they play much louder in VLC.
Even when windows volume is maxed out and my headset/speakers are at maximum the volume is average.
Anyone?

Why can't I change this? I pressed color controls and then pressed the right arrow to increase the brightness but it doesn't alter anything, what am I doing wrong? please help me.
