So, the problem is fixed ?
If so, there are many freeware win-based programs that do conversion from one subtitle format to another. Subtitle Editor, Subadjust, SubtitleWorkshop, Srt2Sub and so on....

Could you find something common to the files that cause the crash ? Like, all of them have 48000 Hz sound or AC3 sound, or the movie window size can't be divided by 4 ?
