In VirtualDubMod, using direct stream copy you don't get any more subtitles ? If you save the subtitle stream only, can you tell what type is (srt, sub, ssa) ?

Maybe changing from Haali MKV splitter to Gabest...

Maybe changing from Haali MKV splitter to Gabest will help. We did get some errors about Haali media splitter and mkv files lately.
