Yes, the latest update kills HW acceleration on Tegra 2 devices. At least those running Honeycomb. Before the update, BSPlayer worked just fine on my Motorola XOOM using HW acceleration, but now it plays back everything with SW acceleration. I really hope the developer fixes this soon because I use this program a lot and, unfortunately, don't have a backup of the APK file of the previous version that worked just fine. (Well, it worked just fine minus the seeking being broken for files over 2GB... but now we swapped that minor problem for a major one...) |

BSPlayer HW mode enabled in Preferences? Update might have overwritten your previous settings. We will check it out.

So I flashed Ice Cream Sandwich, thanks to a Team EOS build that has 4G LTE working now, and I will report that the newest version of BSPlayer Lite works WITH Hardware Acceleration under ICS. Basically, the newest version of BSPlayer Lite broke HW acceleration under Honeycomb only for the XOOM. Probably had something to do with the added Android 4.0 support in it. (Though it added Android 4.0 support, it broke Android 3.x HW acceleration support. ;-)) |
