[FIXED] Grayish black bars After upgrading to windows 7 x64 and using EVR as renderer (overlay mixer isn't an option anymore) I see the entire bottom black bar being gray and part of the right top bar. Self explanatory screencap: http://img338.imageshack.us/img338/4568/screenyp.jpg The partial gray top bar isn't always here between computer reboot, the bottom one is ALWAYS here. Using any decoder (ffdshow alone, coreAVC alone) in any color output (RBG32, YUV...) with any resolution (SD, HD720p/1080p) There is a temporary solution to the problem: pressing "5" on the numpad (pan-scan reset), everything turn out black, but getting out from fullscreen and getting back to fullscreen gets the problem back I previously seen the problem on XP using VMR7, but a bit differently (player element was painting gray where they were moved) I see those bar clearly since I perform a YUV->RBG32 conversion that move the correct luma of 16-235 to 0-255 (gray to back and white) Other maybe useful info: GC: Ati Radeon X1650 Display: Samsung 20" 1600x1200 DVI OS: Fresh windows 7 x64 Preferred decoder: coreAVC->ffdshow->upscale/RBG32conversion->vsfilter Thank you for reading. |

same problem for me: (it's purple for me)
same problem for me: (it's purple for me) http://forum.bsplayer.com/bug-report...cial-team.html and someone already report it to bsplayer support team but they did not manage to reproduce it. and it's also happen for me on my friend's pc. something is really weird with bsplayer. I think bsplayer pro has some problem with coreavc pro. anyway.. I really appreciate bsplayer team and I hope they will manage to fix it. |

Well looking further in detail the problem we can see that it is a YUV output problem. As You may know a computer screen work on the color space of: Y:0-255 CbCr 1-255 against TV: Y:16-235 CbCr 16-240 convertion tout RGB: 0-0-0 and 15-0-15 (dark purple some red+blue) Witch mean that we send to the TV an image with grayish black and grayish white. So if whe send the image to a TV we won't see the problem, but on a computer it's not the case. So the problem is probably mainly in our video drivers/hardware system. after for the rest of technical detail it seems a bit complex. This weekend if I have time I will try to test alternative configuration (VGA instead of DVI, single-head/dual-head, hardware overlay parameters etc...) |

Got the opportunity to test a few other things. You where right about ffdshow alone (using libavcodec of ffmpg-mt). But, since I use coreAVC and ffdshow in the same time (coreAVC decode, send to ffdshow, and ffdshow perform upscale and rgb32 conversion). http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/2421/tttwk.png (directvobsub has no effect) What it mean is that it's no the link between bsplayer and coreAVC and therefore maybe coreAVC fault. I also tried falling back in VGA, changing COLOR ICC profile, no change. I also performed a massive modification of the video stream in ffdshow, removing any flag information (aspect ration/interlacing etc...) to be sure coreAVC don't say anything to bsplayer) but didn't worked What’s left to test is changing software version (older CoreAVC, and bsplayer) EDIT: Tested coreAVC 1.8.0, same problem (CoreAVC 1.2.0.0 failed to work under 7) Last edited by neb1236; 27th November 2009 at 01:43 PM. |
